Why this document?
Art is a complex field:
- How do you know if a work is original?
- What are the rights regarding this work?
- What is inspiration?
- ...
This document aims to ensure a trustworthy creative environment. The fruit of your labor belongs to you, and this text is here to protect it.
Mutual Commitment
You commit to:
- Respect these rules to protect intellectual property.
- Consider regular backups of your creations.
- Resolve conflicts with respect and calm.
We commit to:
- Protect your rights over your builds.
- Handle disputes according to this charter.
- Inform you transparently about changes and our decisions.
Intellectual Property
What constitutes an original build:
- Builds resulting from your personal creative effort, in your own style or inspired by a particular style.
- Your personal interpretation of real structures (example: your version of the Eiffel Tower).
- Any build that is not a direct copy of another work, or if the inspiration is a minor part.
What does not constitute an original build:
- Copies of existing builds on the server (even with minor modifications).
- Copies of a build shared through any external channel outside our server (example: downloading a schematic from a sharing site).
- Overly simple builds (example: a simple house made of dirt, wood, etc.).
If you want to be inspired by/copy:
- Modify the build sufficiently by adding your style or continuing to evolve the work artistically.
- Clearly credit the original author (signs, plot description, etc.).
Defining authorship of creations:
From our perspective, ownership of a build is determined by the owner of the land where it is built:
- For plots: The plot creator owns the authorship of the work.
- For private worlds: The world creator is the exclusive owner.
⚠️ Warning about collaborations: If you spend hours building on someone else's plot, you will have difficulty claiming ownership later. Always clarify expectations before contributing!
In case of a dispute:
To make our decision, we will consider:
- plots info involved (creation and modification dates, owners, collaborators, block logs, etc.).
- Media supporting the arguments of the different parties (screenshots of creations, videos, written text, etc.).
Server Backups
We do our best to protect your builds on our game server. We regularly back up the world.
However:
- We cannot guarantee partial or complete restoration of all builds in case of data loss.
- In case of data loss (corruption, attack, error, etc.), we decline all responsibility for the consequences of losing your builds.
- We strongly recommend creating your own backups using the tools provided.
What happens if the server shuts down permanently?
Pre-shutdown:
We will announce the definitive shutdown of our game server at least 1 month in advance through:
- In-game announcements each time players log in.
- Banners on our website.
- Emails for those who have previously provided us with their address.
This will give you time to finish your builds or export them from our server.
Post-shutdown:
- The website will remain available 1 month after shutdown.
- The public map will be available for direct download and via torrent.
⚠️ If you do not want your builds to appear in the final archive, delete your plots from the public map before the server shuts down.
EULA Modifications
This text is likely to evolve along with our services. That is why we will update it regularly. You will be notified at least 1 month before the new EULA comes into effect.
You will be informed of changes through:
- In-game announcements each time players log in.
- Banners on our website.
- Emails for those who have previously provided us with their address.
